02 / Applicability

The affected context

Affected versions, configuration prerequisites and known exclusions are public. Confirm each one against the deployed service.

cakephp/debug_kit

source listed
  • ECOSYSTEM: introduced 0; fixed 4.10.3

### Impact The `MailPreview` feature of debugkit is vulnerable to arbitrary constructor execution. For an application to be vulnerable the following conditions must be true: 1. `debug` mode must be enabled. 2. The hostname must match a 'local' domain or be in an allowlist. ### Patches 5.2.4 and 4.10.3 contain patches for this issue. ### Workarounds Ensure that debugkit is only part of your development dependencies, and that debug mode is disabled in production environments.

  3. investigate

Identify the exact component and deployed version, examine the linked publisher’s conditions, and retain evidence of any mitigation.

Confirm current vendor support, compatibility and deployment evidence. This report has not tested a fix in your system. FIRST EPSS

A fixed release is not deployment evidence.

Check current vendor support and compatibility. After making a change, verify the deployed build and relevant runtime conditions. Keep the evidence, owner and time. An updated lockfile alone does not prove what is running.
