AVideo Multi-Chain Attack: Unauthenticated Remote Code Execution via Clone Key Disclosure, Database Dump, and Command Injection
OSV carries this publisher advisory for wwbn/avideo. This is an aggregated source copy; consult the original publisher and compare update dates.
This report has not inspected your inventory, configuration, deployed build, reachability or evidence. A catalog listing and a severity score do not establish exposure or compromise.

## Summary Multiple vulnerabilities in AVideo's CloneSite plugin chain together to allow a completely unauthenticated attacker to achieve remote code execution. The `clones.json.php` endpoint exposes clone secret keys without authentication, which can be used to trigger a full database dump via `cloneServer.json.php`. The dump contains admin password hashes stored as MD5, which are trivially crackable. With admin access, the attacker exploits an OS command injection in the rsync command construction in `cloneClient.json.php` to execute arbitrary system commands. ## Details ### Step 1: Clone Key Disclosure `plugin/CloneSite/clones.json.php:1-8` has zero authentication: ```php {"data": } ``` The response includes the `key` field for every registered clone, which is the sole authentication credential for clone operations. ### Step 2: Database Dump via Stolen Key `plugin/CloneSite/cloneServer.json.php:73-97` — once the key passes `Clones::thisUR

What to do next
- investigate
Identify the exact component and deployed version, examine the linked publisher’s conditions, and retain evidence of any mitigation.
Confirm current vendor support, compatibility and deployment evidence. This report has not tested a fix in your system. FIRST EPSS
A fixed release is not deployment evidence.
Check current vendor support and compatibility. After making a change, verify the deployed build and relevant runtime conditions. Keep the evidence, owner and time. An updated lockfile alone does not prove what is running.
04 / Limits
What this report cannot establish
- Customer inventory, deployment, reachability and exploitation have not been inspected.
- NVD lastModified does not establish freshness of every associated CPE record.
05 / Provenance
Sources you can inspect
Each assertion retains its source. Mirrored records may repeat one underlying publisher; additional links are not independent corroboration.
