  • ECOSYSTEM: introduced 0; fixed 4.7.2

### Impact `pocketmine\entity\Skin` doesn't correctly handle errors produced by `adhocore/json-comment`, which throws `RuntimeException` rather than returning `false` as PocketMine-MP expects. This leads to a server crash if the skin geometry data is invalid for some reason (e.g. a syntax error). ### Patches c9626c610b8f6810c8c987559c9197b2a291f0bb ### Workarounds A plugin could handle `LoginPacket` and `PlayerSkinPacket` to verify the skin geometry data can be parsed correctly, so that the error condition in the core code is never reached. ### For more information If you have any questions or comments about this advisory: * Email us at security@pmmp.io

03 / Response

What to do next

  1. vendor patch

The original advisory lists fixed boundaries 4.7.2 for pocketmine/pocketmine-mp. Confirm the publisher’s latest guidance.

Confirm current vendor support, compatibility and deployment evidence. This report has not tested a fix in your system. GitHub Advisory Database via OSV

  2. investigate

Identify the exact component and deployed version, examine the linked publisher’s conditions, and retain evidence of any mitigation.

Confirm current vendor support, compatibility and deployment evidence. This report has not tested a fix in your system. FIRST EPSS

A fixed release is not deployment evidence.

Check current vendor support and compatibility. After making a change, verify the deployed build and relevant runtime conditions. Keep the evidence, owner and time. An updated lockfile alone does not prove what is running.
