Authentication granted to all firewalls instead of just one
OSV carries this publisher advisory for symfony/security-http, symfony/symfony. This is an aggregated source copy; consult the original publisher and compare update dates.
This report has not inspected your inventory, configuration, deployed build, reachability or evidence. A catalog listing and a severity score do not establish exposure or compromise.

The affected context
Affected versions, configuration prerequisites and known exclusions are public. Confirm each one against the deployed service.
symfony/security-http
source listedECOSYSTEM: introduced 5.3.0; fixed 5.3.2
Description ----------- When an application defines multiple firewalls, the authenticated token delivered by one of the firewalls is available to all other firewalls. This can be abused when the application defines different providers for different parts of an application. In such a situation, a user authenticated on one part of the application is considered authenticated on the whole application. Resolution ---------- We now ensure that the authenticated token is only available for the firewall that generates it. The patch for this issue is available here for branch 5.3. Credits ------- I would like to thank Bogdan, gndk, Paweł Warchoł, Warxcell, and Adrien Lamotte for reporting the issue and Wouter J for fixing the issue.

- investigate
Identify the exact component and deployed version, examine the linked publisher’s conditions, and retain evidence of any mitigation.
Confirm current vendor support, compatibility and deployment evidence. This report has not tested a fix in your system. FIRST EPSS
A fixed release is not deployment evidence.
Check current vendor support and compatibility. After making a change, verify the deployed build and relevant runtime conditions. Keep the evidence, owner and time. An updated lockfile alone does not prove what is running.
