Grav: Incomplete callable validation in blueprint dynamic fields allows arbitrary static method invocation and file disclosure
GitHub lists this reviewed advisory for getgrav/grav. Published version ranges and source prerequisites are shown below; this is not an inspection of a visitor’s application.
This report has not inspected your inventory, configuration, deployed build, reachability or evidence. A catalog listing and a severity score do not establish exposure or compromise.
01 / Meaning
Why it matters
Published affected context helps an owner decide what evidence to gather. This report has not examined your application.
8.1 high
GitHub source severity; exploitability and local consequence require separate evidence.
As of · GitHub Advisory Database
0.295%
FIRST EPSS model v2026.06.15; exploitation probability over 30 days, percentile 0.22277. Missing scores are unknown.

### Summary Grav CMS's blueprint dynamic-field callable guard can be bypassed with a fully-qualified `Class::method` string, letting an account with only page-editing rights (`admin.pages`, not super-admin) plant a directive in a page's form-field frontmatter that invokes an arbitrary public static PHP method with attacker-controlled arguments. Using built-in gadget methods this yields, at minimum, arbitrary reading of any server-readable file (disclosed to anonymous visitors of the crafted page) and arbitrary creation/copying of files and directories under the web-server account. ### Details `Blueprint::isSafeDynamicCall()` (`system/src/Grav/Common/Data/Blueprint.php`, method around line 488) is meant to block dangerous callables named in a blueprint's dynamic-field directives (`data-*@`). It only consults its dangerous-name denylist when the callable string does **not** contain `::`: ```php if (is_string($function) && !str_contains($function, '::') && Utils::isDangerousFunction($function)) { return false; } ``` Any callable string containing `::` — i.e. every `Class::method` static call — skips the check entirely and is passed to `call_user_func_array()` at `Blueprint::dynam

What to do next
- investigate
Identify the exact component and deployed version, examine the linked publisher’s conditions, and retain evidence of any mitigation.
Confirm current vendor support, compatibility and deployment evidence. This report has not tested a fix in your system. FIRST EPSS
- vendor patch
The original advisory lists fixed boundaries 2.0.11 for getgrav/grav. Confirm the publisher’s latest guidance.
Confirm current vendor support, compatibility and deployment evidence. This report has not tested a fix in your system. GitHub Advisory Database via OSV
A fixed release is not deployment evidence.
Check current vendor support and compatibility. After making a change, verify the deployed build and relevant runtime conditions. Keep the evidence, owner and time. An updated lockfile alone does not prove what is running.
