social-auth-core has Login CSRF via Missing State Parameter in LoginRadius Backend
GitHub lists this reviewed advisory for social-auth-core. Published version ranges and source prerequisites are shown below; this is not an inspection of a visitor’s application.
This report has not inspected your inventory, configuration, deployed build, reachability or evidence. A catalog listing and a severity score do not establish exposure or compromise.

### Impact The LoginRadius backend did not validate OAuth state during the authentication flow. Applications using this backend were vulnerable to login CSRF. An attacker could cause a victim's browser session to complete authentication using an attacker-controlled LoginRadius token, making the victim authenticated as the attacker's LoginRadius identity. The issue affects only applications using the LoginRadius backend. ### Patches The issue has been fixed by enabling callback state validation for the LoginRadius backend. Users should upgrade to a patched version. Fix: * https://github.com/python-social-auth/social-core/pull/1808 ### Workarounds Applications that cannot upgrade immediately should disable the LoginRadius backend by removing it from `SOCIAL_AUTH_AUTHENTICATION_BACKENDS`. There is no complete workaround while continuing to use the vulnerable backend. ### Credits Reported through GitHub private vulnerability reporting by Liyi Zhou, Ziyue Wang, Strick, Maurice, and Chenchen Yu from the University of Sydney security research team. What to do next
- investigate
Identify the exact component and deployed version, examine the linked publisher’s conditions, and retain evidence of any mitigation.
Confirm current vendor support, compatibility and deployment evidence. This report has not tested a fix in your system. FIRST EPSS
A fixed release is not deployment evidence.
Check current vendor support and compatibility. After making a change, verify the deployed build and relevant runtime conditions. Keep the evidence, owner and time. An updated lockfile alone does not prove what is running.
04 / Limits
What this report cannot establish
- Customer inventory, deployment, reachability and exploitation have not been inspected.
- NVD lastModified does not establish freshness of every associated CPE record.

Sources you can inspect
Each assertion retains its source. Mirrored records may repeat one underlying publisher; additional links are not independent corroboration.
