SiYuan: getEncryptedNotebookStatus discloses names and current lock/unlock state of all encrypted notebooks to anonymous readers
GitHub lists this reviewed advisory for github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel. Published version ranges and source prerequisites are shown below; this is not an inspection of a visitor’s application.
This report has not inspected your inventory, configuration, deployed build, reachability or evidence. A catalog listing and a severity score do not establish exposure or compromise.

**CVE:** This vulnerability corresponds to CVE-2026-72797. ### Summary `POST /api/notebook/getEncryptedNotebookStatus` returns the identifier, name, and current lock state of every encrypted notebook, with no publish-access filtering. The route is registered `CheckAuth` only, no `CheckReadonly`, no `CheckAdminRole` so it is reachable by the publish `RoleReader` token and by the anonymous account when `Publish.Auth.Enable` is `false`. Encrypted notebooks are private by design; their names frequently reveal the sensitive topic that motivated encrypting them. ### Details Route registration (`kernel/api/router.go:131`): ```go ginServer.Handle("POST", "/api/notebook/getEncryptedNotebookStatus", model.CheckAuth, getEncryptedNotebookStatus) ``` The handler (`kernel/api/notebook.go`) accepts no arguments and contains no `IsReadOnlyRoleContext` branch and no publish-access filter of any kind. It returns, for every encrypted notebook, `{id, name, unlocked}`, the notebook's `box.Name` and its live lock state together with `enabled`, `count`, `migrationPending`, `migrationBoxes`, and `hasHistoryDependency`. **Guarded-sibling asymmetry.**
03 / Response
What to do next
- investigate
Identify the exact component and deployed version, examine the linked publisher’s conditions, and retain evidence of any mitigation.
Confirm current vendor support, compatibility and deployment evidence. This report has not tested a fix in your system. GitHub Advisory Database
A fixed release is not deployment evidence.
Check current vendor support and compatibility. After making a change, verify the deployed build and relevant runtime conditions. Keep the evidence, owner and time. An updated lockfile alone does not prove what is running.
04 / Limits

- Customer inventory, deployment, reachability and exploitation have not been inspected.
05 / Provenance
Sources you can inspect
Each assertion retains its source. Mirrored records may repeat one underlying publisher; additional links are not independent corroboration.
