### Summary The RedirectHandler middleware in microsoft/kiota-java (com.microsoft.kiota:microsoft-kiota-http-okHttp v1.9.0) and other Kiota libraries fails to strip sensitive HTTP headers when following 3xx redirects to a different host or scheme. This vulnerability is present in the RedirectHandlers for: https://github.com/microsoft/kiota-dotnet https://github.com/microsoft/kiota-java https://github.com/microsoft/kiota-python https://github.com/microsoft/kiota-typescript https://github.com/microsoft/kiota-http-go ### Details Only the Authorization header is removed; Cookie, Proxy-Authorization, and all custom headers are forwarded to the redirect target. This is the default middleware in every kiota-java HTTP client created via KiotaClientFactory.create(). OkHttp's built-in redirect handler (which handles this correctly) is explicitly disabled at line 63 of KiotaClientFactory.java in favor of kiota's broken implementation. Vulnerable code in RedirectHandler.java lines 107-116 (getRedirect method) in versions 1.90 and earlier: ``` boolean sameScheme = locationUrl.scheme().equalsIgnoreCase(requestUrl.scheme()); boolean sameHost = locationUrl.host().toString().equalsIgnoreCas

03 / Response
What to do next
- investigate
Identify the exact component and deployed version, examine the linked publisher’s conditions, and retain evidence of any mitigation.
Confirm current vendor support, compatibility and deployment evidence. This report has not tested a fix in your system. NIST National Vulnerability Database
A fixed release is not deployment evidence.
Check current vendor support and compatibility. After making a change, verify the deployed build and relevant runtime conditions. Keep the evidence, owner and time. An updated lockfile alone does not prove what is running.
04 / Limits
What this report cannot establish
- Customer inventory, deployment, reachability and exploitation have not been inspected.
- NVD lastModified does not establish freshness of every associated CPE record.
05 / Provenance
Sources you can inspect
Each assertion retains its source. Mirrored records may repeat one underlying publisher; additional links are not independent corroboration.
