This report has not inspected your inventory, configuration, deployed build, reachability or evidence. A catalog listing and a severity score do not establish exposure or compromise.

01 / Meaning

Why it matters

Published affected context helps an owner decide what evidence to gather. This report has not examined your application.

  • >= 2.82.0, < 2.91.0

### Impact In versions `>= 2.82.0, < 2.91.0`, if the HTML backend was explicitly configured for rendering (rendering option by default deactivated), then the Playwright-based rendering feature could allow JavaScript execution and unrestricted network access when processing untrusted HTML documents. An attacker could craft malicious HTML that executes arbitrary JavaScript in the rendering context or makes unauthorized network requests to internal services, potentially leading to SSRF attacks, data exfiltration, or remote code execution in the rendering environment. ### Patches Fixed in version 2.91.0. The rendering context now explicitly disables JavaScript execution (`java_script_enabled=False`) and implements network isolation controls. When `enable_remote_fetch` is disabled, the browser operates in offline mode, preventing all network requests. ### Workarounds Refrain from using `render_page=True` when processing untrusted HTML documents. ### References - Fix release: v2.91.0

What to do next

  1. investigate

    Identify the exact component and deployed version, examine the linked publisher’s conditions, and retain evidence of any mitigation.

    Confirm current vendor support, compatibility and deployment evidence. This report has not tested a fix in your system. GitHub Advisory Database

A fixed release is not deployment evidence.

Check current vendor support and compatibility. After making a change, verify the deployed build and relevant runtime conditions. Keep the evidence, owner and time. An updated lockfile alone does not prove what is running.
