OpenTelemetry-Go: Exporter config logging may leak endpoint URLs in info logs
GitHub lists this reviewed advisory for go.opentelemetry.io/otel/sdk, go.opentelemetry.io/otel/exporters/otlp/otlptrace, go.opentelemetry.io/otel/exporters/otlp/otlptrace/otlptracegrpc, go.opentelemetry.io/otel/exporters/otlp/otlptrace/otlptracehttp, go.opentelemetry.io/otel/exporters/zipkin. Published version ranges and source prerequisites are shown below; this is not an inspection of a visitor’s application.
This report has not inspected your inventory, configuration, deployed build, reachability or evidence. A catalog listing and a severity score do not establish exposure or compromise.

### Summary OpenTelemetry Go versions 1.5.0 through 1.44.0 can include trace exporter endpoint configuration in an internal diagnostic log emitted when an SDK `TracerProvider` is created. The default OpenTelemetry logger does not emit this event. Exposure requires an application to install a logger that enables OpenTelemetry's internal Info-level diagnostics and for someone other than the intended audience to have access to those logs. The logged configuration can disclose the address of the trace collector and whether the OTLP/HTTP connection is configured as insecure. The Zipkin exporter logs its complete collector URL, so credentials in URL userinfo or tokens in the query string are also disclosed if an application embeds them there. OTLP authentication headers, TLS key material, and exported span data are not included in this log. Exporter `MarshalLog` implementations that caused this configuration to be included in internal logs were introduced by `a1fff3c`. ### Details When `sdk/trace.NewTracerProvider` constructs a provider, it records a `TracerProvider created` interna

What to do next
- investigate
Identify the exact component and deployed version, examine the linked publisher’s conditions, and retain evidence of any mitigation.
Confirm current vendor support, compatibility and deployment evidence. This report has not tested a fix in your system. GitHub Advisory Database
A fixed release is not deployment evidence.
Check current vendor support and compatibility. After making a change, verify the deployed build and relevant runtime conditions. Keep the evidence, owner and time. An updated lockfile alone does not prove what is running.

Each assertion retains its source. Mirrored records may repeat one underlying publisher; additional links are not independent corroboration.
