Allure Report: Path Traversal in HTTP Server Allows Arbitrary File Read
GitHub lists this reviewed advisory for io.qameta.allure:allure-commandline. Published version ranges and source prerequisites are shown below; this is not an inspection of a visitor’s application.
This report has not inspected your inventory, configuration, deployed build, reachability or evidence. A catalog listing and a severity score do not establish exposure or compromise.

## Summary The built-in HTTP server started by `allure serve` and `allure open` is vulnerable to path traversal. The server resolves request URI paths directly against the report directory without normalizing or validating that the resolved path stays within the report directory. An attacker who can reach the server can read any file accessible to the Allure process by sending a request containing `../` sequences. ## Details When `allure serve` or `allure open` is executed, `Commands.setUpServer()` creates an HTTP server with a handler that serves files from the report directory: **`allure-commandline/src/main/java/io/qameta/allure/Commands.java:325-339`** ```java protected HttpServer setUpServer(final String host, final int port, final Path reportDirectory) throws IOException { final HttpServer server = HttpServer .create(new InetSocketAddress(Objects.isNull(host) ? "localhost" : host, port), 0); server.createContext("/", exchange -> { final Path resolve = reportDirectory.resolve("." + exchange.getRequestURI().getPath()); // line 330 if (Files.isDirectory(resolve)) { serveFile(exchange, resolve.resolve("index.html")); }
03 / Response
What to do next
- investigate
Identify the exact component and deployed version, examine the linked publisher’s conditions, and retain evidence of any mitigation.
Confirm current vendor support, compatibility and deployment evidence. This report has not tested a fix in your system. GitHub Advisory Database
A fixed release is not deployment evidence.
Check current vendor support and compatibility. After making a change, verify the deployed build and relevant runtime conditions. Keep the evidence, owner and time. An updated lockfile alone does not prove what is running.

- Customer inventory, deployment, reachability and exploitation have not been inspected.
05 / Provenance
Sources you can inspect
Each assertion retains its source. Mirrored records may repeat one underlying publisher; additional links are not independent corroboration.
